Our Stockwell nursery

A Stockwell nursery where children choose their own work and follow it through

Unique Child Montessori Stockwell takes children from 6 months to 5 years, set inside a large church hall on Jeffreys Road. Teachers act as guides rather than instructors, observing each child and stepping back further as they grow more independent.

A Montessori nursery in Stockwell, inside a large church hall

🏡

Our space

The nursery is arranged across the church hall's generous floor space, giving each age group room to work without feeling boxed in. Montessori materials are set out on low shelves so children select their own activities across literacy, mathematics, sensorial, practical life, cultural and expressive arts, rather than waiting to be directed.

🌿

Outdoors

Stockwell sits close to Larkhall Park and Stockwell Skate Park, both within easy walking distance for local families. Children get outdoor time as part of the daily routine, alongside the nursery's own outside access.

Stockwell Underground station (Victoria and Northern lines) is a short walk from Jeffreys Road, with Stockwell also served by numerous bus routes along Clapham Road and South Lambeth Road. Street parking is available nearby for drop-off and collection.

Why parents choose us

What families notice in the first few weeks

A settling-in built around three visits rather than one, a peg and bag with your child's name and picture from day one, warm meals through the day, and a nursery open 51 weeks of the year when family life doesn't stop for term time.

  1. 01

The Montessori Method Learning that follows the child

Montessori education gives children real choice within a carefully prepared environment: hands-on materials, mixed-age rooms, and a teacher who guides rather than instructs. It's an approach built around independence and self-motivation, letting each child build the skills and confidence to become their own best teacher.

  2. 02

Outdoor learning, every day Space to move, create and play

Our beautiful outdoor area is designed to give a good deal of physical activity, role play, creativity and imaginative play.

  3. 03

A true partnership with parents Working alongside you, not just updating you

We recognise parents as a child's first and most influential teacher and as such ensure we do work in partnership with parents on all aspects of caring for your child.

Our 10-day calm start gives every child a structured, gentle transition into nursery life.

What makes us different

Rooms That Grow With Your Child

From first steps to school-ready, room by room

In Tulips, babies and toddlers explore natural materials like cotton, wool and wood at their own pace. By Oakleys, preschoolers work independently with Montessori materials such as sandpaper letters and spindle boxes, ready for their next stage.
